Mission:

Conflict resolution : idea is to instrumentalize sport to create connections between antagonists groups and an educational key for peace

Description:

This project hasn't started yet. This is more an idea I would love to realize. As I've studied a lot of humanitarian affairs and conflict resolution, I always been really interested in working with victims. Refugees are on my mind. And as I am a great football fan and have ever perform this sport, I would love to start or join a project that would combine both. I was thinking about creating football (soccer training) in a refugee camp. The training wouldn't be only based on performing sport but I would like to group many experts (physician, psychologist, politolog, etc.) so every individual participating who have access to differents services. War has a huge effect on victims, perceptions and their inner hope. The best way to create alternative is first to recreate a feeling oh hope in their society, community and give them many keys to go on with their personal and professional life. Every training would be physic and at the same time, academic. We could instrumentalize sport to create connections between antagonists groups. For example, in israeli-palestinian conflict, we could give the opportunity to kids from both countries to play football and mix the teams. There is propably a lot of issues and barriers to analyze in this project, but it sounds interesting for me. Sport may be an approach to peace ! Due to a lack of time, this is really brief but this project has a lot more to offer. I'm thinking about two specifics area (Laayoune, Morocco; Gaza, Palestine).
